Founder / Guide
Before he got on a rope for the first time in 2012, Ryan had only ever climbed the alpine tower at Camp Sequoyah and the boulders at Moss Rock Preserve. All it took was one trip to the Wind River Range in Wyoming to get him fired up about living the mountain lifestyle. For now, he’s focused on exploring all of the climbing in the Southern Appalachian Mountains.
Ryan is the founder of Idlewild Adventure Company, an AMGA Single Pitch Instructor and Climbing Wall Instructor, a Wilderness First Responder, and a dedicated coffee drinker.
Zolen has been getting outside for over twenty-five years–first with his father and then with Scouts. An avid explorer and savvy backpacker, he has been on trails all over the Southeast, around the Northwest and in the islands of Hawaii. His climbing career began in 2012, and in classic Zolen fashion, he has taken a systematic approach to knowing everything there is to know about climbing, and he’s stoked to share what he’s learned!
Zolen is an AMGA Single Pitch Instructor, and he’s mean with a sewing machine. He is also the founder of Exzo, a custom gear and apparel outfitter based in Birmingham.

Although climbing is Cory’s first love, snapping pics and shooting vids of others climbing is a close second! If this guy is climbing on a rope beside you, camera in hand, you are guaranteed to have a one of a kind experience — and one that you can relive and share with your friends!
While he pursues a business degree at UAB, Cory is launching a start up production company this Spring! Check out his Facebook page!
